| Susan Farnsworth is a graduate of Bates College and earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maine School of Law in 1976. | |
| From 1988 to 1994 she served as a State Representative in the State of Maine Legislature.
She was elected for three two-year terms to represent District 91 (Hallowell, Chelsea and Pittston). She was a member of the Joint Standing Committees on Judiciary and Taxation and chaired the Commission on Oil Spill Prevention. | |
| In 1991 she served as Interim City Manager for the City of Hallowell. | |
| She has been Chief Counsel to the Governor's Office of Employee Relations; Assistant Maine Attorney General; Section Chief at State Department of Labor; Legal Advisor to the State Division of Community Services; and Program Coordinator for Manpower and Economic Development for the City of Lewiston. | |
| Her current community and professional activities include Chair of the Hallowell Water District Board of Trustees (1997 to present); Member of the municipal committee on Recycling; Memberof the Maine State Bar Association and Kennebec Valley Art Association; and Member of the Rainbow Business and Professional Association. Previous activities included Member of the Executive Committee and an organizer of ‘Yes on 6’ PAC (2000 Statewide Referendum Campaign); Chair of the Labor and Employment Section of Maine State Bar Association (mid 80's); and Chair of the Lewiston Housing Authority Board of Commissioners (1974-76). |
